RUNAGROUND Signed to SongVest Records

We’re really excited to announce the newest addition to our roster, Nashville-based Dance/ElectroPop recording artist Andrew Kirk, who performs under the name RUNAGROUND. Andrew chose his artist name in honor of his grandfather, whose ship “ran aground” in the Pacific during WWII. He describes it as a moment in his life when going off course can be the best thing for one’s journey. His career moves have been similar.

Andrew got his start playing drums and performing gospel music, and over the past decade transitioned to writing and producing original material while also steadily releasing cover versions of popular songs given his radio friendly vocals and production skills.

In 2017 he had his first #1 song on Billboard’s Dance Radio Airplay charts, with “Chase You Down,” climbing over the likes of Halsey and The Chainsmoker’s “Closer” to reach the top. With independent and label success under his belt, his popular YouTube channel now boasts over one hundred million combined views. He also starred on the AXS Television music show “Breaking Band” with Moby as a mentor, and was the featured vocalist on the self-written, “Coffee Can Money“ with collaborator Borgeous, racking up over 10 million streams. His self produced original "We Are One,” became the anthem of the live World Compassion Summit and 80th birthday celebration for the Dalai Lama, which featured him in a celebrity laden music video tribute and live performance.

Andrew is a big supporter of our label model and he’ll proactively share his enthusiasm for being part of the SongVest Records team on his social media accounts, where he has a strong following. We plan to release a series of his singles, starting in the first quarter 2021 (subject to change).

Please join us in welcoming Andrew to the SongVest Records family! You can also follow him on Spotify, as well as any other services you subscribe to.
